Good Friday (Acoustic Poem)
God, from Heaven, sent down His
Only begotten Son, to suffer and die a cruel death,
On that harsh, wooden Cross on Calvary, for you and me.
Ding, Ding … Hammer strike spikes into both His hands
Finished – The Cross lifted up to shame our naked Saviour.
Red streams trickled down his bruised head and body,
In the dust where Mary knelt. Tears, sweat, and blood mingled.
Desperation and thirst caused His body to tremble,
As the earth shook, the skies darkened, Jesus
Yelled out, ‘God, why Hast Thou Forsaken Me?’
