the wick set aflame
flickers a soft light
upon this rugged face
the smell of oil burning
soothes my soul
I feel like time is rushing by
but when the oil runs out
time will stand still
my hat may cover the grey
but nothing can smooth away
the wrinkles cast upon this face
soon a stone will be placed
at my head
what words will be cast upon it
she enjoyed life to the fullest
she helped those in need
I would wish the words to be
her light did shine in a world of darkness
May the words be honest. No lies on my headstone.
You are the second person to write about their Epitaph recently! I actually never thought about mine…maybe because I think I might be cremated. I love your last line. And you do shine light everywhere you go Drew 🙂

Aww! Kirsten, you have brought tears to my eyes. No really. It’s my goal in life. To be like the One I believe in. Not always an easy task.

No it’s not any easy task, but it is one that brings much joy :-).
